Gallery FUMI
Gallery FUMI was the first design gallery to open in Shoreditch, London, in 2008. Its directors, Valerio Capo and Sam Pratt, have since made it into a fixture of the international design scene.
The gallery is located in a converted nineteenth century school building in Hoxton Square that is also home to its directors. The space has seen numerous ground-breaking shows take place over the years and has become an integral element of the gallery’s vision; although highly sculptural and at times unconventional, the works exhibited at FUMI are functional and approachable. Craftsmanship plays a unifying role amongst the works selected and exhibited by the London gallery.
Whilst the gallery does not have a fixed manifesto, the directors are naturally drawn to both emerging and established designers who use their imaginations to push materials to their limits.
The gallery represents the work of Brooksbank & Collins, Glithero, Alex Hull, Max Lamb, Thomas Lemut, Tomáš Libertíny, Rowan Mersh, Johannes Nagel, Sam Orlando Miller, Zoé Ouvrier, Tina Roeder, Studio Markunpoika, Studio Silverlining, Study O Portable, Faye Toogood and Jeremy Wintrebert.
